Prerequisites for MSN or DNP Programs

Would you like to advance your nursing career with an MSN or DNP degree, but do not have a bachelor’s degree in nursing? UCF College of Nursing has an option designed for you.

Licensed RNs who have completed an AS in Nursing or diploma nursing program from an accredited program and have earned a bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than nursing may apply to an MSN or DNP program.

Students who plan on enrolling in a full-time graduate program must complete the following prerequisite courses the semester prior to beginning graduate coursework or progression in the program will be delayed.

  • NUR 3805 Dimensions of Professional Practice (3 credit hours)
  • NUR 4637 Public Health Nursing (3 credit hours)
  • NUR 3165 Nursing Research (3 credit hours)
