Faculty

Kelly Allred focuses her research on the use of simulation technology to educate students and practicing nurses to improve patient outcomes. She is currently working with an interdisciplinary team to develop curricula related to pain management for the UCF Academic Health Sciences Center, funded by the Genius Foundation. Allred previously received a UCF Program Innovation Award where she led the development of a student simulation to increase readiness for practice by improving communication and teamwork skills in a high-stress event. Her additional research interests and published works center on nonpharmacologic interventions for the management of pain, and education-focused innovation to improve student nurse knowledge retention. A longtime Florida resident and Knight nurse, Allred was a member of the first cohort of nursing PhD graduates at UCF.
