Kelly Allred, PhD, RN-BC, CNE, is the director of the Traditional BSN and Second Degree BSN programs at the UCF College of Nursing.

Dr. Allred’s research focuses on the use of simulation technology to educate students and practicing nurses to improve patient outcomes. She recently led and completed a research project, which was funded by a UCF innovation grant, that developed a student simulation to improve communication and teamwork skills in a high-stress event.

Allred’s additional research interests and published works center on nonpharmacologic interventions for the management of pain.

A longtime Florida resident and Knight nurse, Allred was in the first cohort of nursing PhD graduates at UCF.
