Faculty

A Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator and Certified Nurse Educator, Erica Hoyt is passionate about educating the next generation of professional nurses. At UCF, she teaches in the Nurse Educator graduate program and in undergraduate programs in lecture, clinical and lab settings using online, face-to-face and simulation modalities. Since 1995, when she began teaching paramedic students, Hoyt’s career has focused on teaching psychomotor skills. As a researcher, she is interested in psychomotor skill acquisition and maintenance, nursing education and simulation where she has received formal training in the use of advocacy/inquiry debriefing and Debriefing for Meaningful Learning® among other theoretical-based debriefing methods.
