A neonatal intensive care unit nurse for almost two decades, Instructor Susan Soderberg began her career in the NICU at Children’s Memorial Hospital NICU in Chicago before accepting a position at Orlando’s Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies in 2007. In addition to her work as a bedside nurse, Soderberg has also served in various leadership roles, including as a leader of the RN New Graduate Residency Program at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Magnet Program Director at Nemours, and Nursing Clinical Manager for a pediatric home health provider. Realizing the impact she could have on new nurses, Soderberg began teaching in 2021, serving on the faculty of several institutions before joining the UCF College of Nursing in 2023. She is currently pursuing a doctorate focused on nurse leadership.
