Faculty

Instructor Kate Dorminy is a dual alumna of the UCF College of Nursing and holds professional certifications in Progressive Care by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and in Nurse Professional Development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Prior to her academic role at UCF as undergraduate clinical education coordinator since 2019, Dorminy worked for over a decade in nursing in Central Florida from critical care to nursing education and leadership. Her expertise is in surgical care, shared governance, accreditation preparedness, and graduate nurse program development and implementation. Deeply committed to community service, she is active in numerous nursing organizations — notably as president of the Metropolitan Orlando Chapter of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and Immediate Past Chair of the UCF College of Nursing Alumni Chapter Board.
