Faculty
Instructor Kate Dorminy is a dual alumna of UCF’s College of Nursing who is passionate about mentoring future Knight nurses. She currently is a full-time teaching faculty member and serves as faculty co-advisor to the Student Nurses’ Association at UCF Orlando. Prior to her academic role at UCF, Dorminy worked for more than a decade in nursing in Central Florida from the bedside in critical care to nursing education and leadership roles. Her expertise is in surgical care, shared governance, accreditation preparedness, and graduate nurse program development and implementation. She holds professional certifications in progressive care, nurse professional development, and certified nurse educator. Deeply committed to community service, Dorminy is active in numerous nursing organizations.
