Offered fully online, UCF’s post-bachelor’s interdisciplinary certificate is led by certified healthcare simulation educators and focused on simulation and other innovative technologies.
*This interdisciplinary certificate is open to faculty and instructors of nursing and other healthcare disciplines, standardized patient educators, and individuals who work in simulation and technology fields.

Curriculum Overview
UCF’s Healthcare Simulation post-bachelor’s certificate prepares professionals to design, manage and evaluate healthcare simulations for basic education and improvement of team healthcare delivery.
This interdisciplinary post-bachelor’s certificate includes 9 credit hours in online asynchronous instruction.

Application Requirements
To apply to UCF’s Healthcare Simulation post-bachelor’s certificate, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- Fulfill the general UCF graduate admissions requirements (see Admissions section of the UCF Graduate Catalog).
- Completed and passed an undergraduate statistics course.
- Earned a bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing or a non-nursing field from a regionally accredited institution. The nursing program must be accredited either with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.
- No GRE required.
Please note that students in the Healthcare Simulation post-bachelor’s certificate must reside in and be physically located in the State of Florida for the duration of the program.

Admissions Process
Ready to apply? You will need the following:
- Schedule an appointment with a graduate advisor before submitting your application to discuss the essay and your goals for graduate study. (Recommended)
- Official transcript (in a sealed envelope) from each college/university attended.
- Curriculum vitae (CV) reflecting prior education, recent clinical accomplishments, any recent scholarly work (publications and presentations), awards, national certifications, and activities with professional organizations.
- Three professional recommendations.
- Written essay, 500 words or less, double spaced in 12-point Times New Roman font with 1-inch margins that addresses the following:
- Describe your future career plans and how the program to which you are applying will help you achieve your career goals.
- Describe the changes you would make in your personal and professional life to ensure success in your graduate nursing education.
- Identify one significant contemporary issue or problem in U.S. healthcare and explore how members of the nursing profession can help address that issue or solve that problem.
Admissions are decided by a committee of faculty and staff within UCF’s College of Nursing based on an applicant’s overall grade point average (GPA), GPA of the last 60 hours of undergraduate program, CV, and written essay.
