Ayse Malatyali is a Jonas Scholar with a priority research area of cognitive aging. She focuses her research primarily on biological, behavioral and social risk factors of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) and falls among underserved older adults. Her additional areas of research include healthcare utilization, palliative care and advanced care planning for individuals with ADRD. She has multiple publications and presentations at national and international scientific meetings. Prior to her academic career, Malatyali worked as a registered nurse, case manager and health program officer in Florida and Turkey, allowing her to connect and collaborate with healthcare professionals worldwide. Her service in public health for underserved populations planted the seed for research in aging and global health as a long-term goal in her journey.
