A registered nurse for more than 30 years, Kimberly Scalise is experienced in a range of teaching modalities including, online, didactic and clinical, but her primary focus is healthcare simulation education. She is committed to the advancement of professional nursing education through the use of simulation-based learning to develop students’ knowledge, skills and attitudes to become safe healthcare practitioners. Prior to her appointment at UCF in 2023, Scalise was responsible for developing and implementing simulation-based learning experiences at several other academic institutions. She also serves on the National Simulation Committee for the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN). A Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator since 2019 and Certified Nurse Educator since 2020, Scalise holds a DNP with a specialization in educational leadership and an MSN with specialization in nursing informatics.
