A dual-certified nurse practitioner for the adult-gerontology population, Frances Armstrong has been in the nursing field since earning her BSN in 2012. She developed a passion for critical care while working at the bedside as a Registered Nurse. Armstrong then sought out education for advanced practice nursing, becoming licensed and certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse upon graduating with her DNP degree in 2016, first focusing on adult-gerontology primary care. She subsequently completed an adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (AGACNP-BC) post-graduate certificate in 2019. Armstrong has practiced as a nurse practitioner in the primary care setting previously, but more recently has practiced as a pulmonary and critical care nurse practitioner since 2019. She continues to maintain clinical practice in this setting while teaching for the UCF College of Nursing within the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
