Chitra “Chippy” Banarjee serves as a graduate research assistant in Dr. Ladda Thiamwong’s EMBRACE Lab at the UCF College of Nursing while pursuing a joint MD/PhD degree at the College of Medicine. She has a broad background in biochemical and biobehavioral research, with specific training and interest in using computational techniques to process and analyze big data, and has presented and published her work widely. Banarjee’s ultimate goal is to explore and expand the role of technology in rural healthcare and identify conceptual approaches for improving quality of care for underserved populations. Active as a leader and volunteer in both the academic and broader communities, she is also a skilled violinist and an avid runner.
