Jethro Raphael Suarez is a biomedical engineering researcher in the Healthy Aging Lab at the University of Central Florida’s College of Nursing. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering, an MS in Biomedical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. His research focuses on the static balance performance and physical activity levels of older adults. Additionally, he applies his engineering expertise to develop cost-effective rehabilitative assistive devices designed to enhance mobility and improve quality of life for older adults. Suarez actively collaborates with researchers from diverse fields outside of engineering, including kinesiology, medicine, and nursing science, with the ongoing goal of leveraging technology to address real-world challenges.
