Faculty
Janet Lopez is an assistant professor at UCF’s College of Nursing and a nurse scientist dedicated to promoting healthy aging. Her work focuses on improving outcomes for older adults, caregivers and veterans, with particular attention to rural and underserved communities. Her research and scholarship integrates community-engaged approaches to address fall risk, frailty, mental health and caregiving outcomes, as well as digital health technologies to support aging in place. An active faculty mentor, Lopez is dedicated to preparing the next generation of nurses and nurse scientists by fostering student interest in research. In addition to her appointment at UCF, Lopez actively contributes to professional and community service efforts that improve population health.
