Christopher W. Blackwell, PhD, ARNP, ANP-BC, AGACNP-BC, CNE, FAANP

Dr. Blackwell's area of scholarship is health and social disparities in gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered persons. He has studied high-risk sexual decision-making in gay and bisexual men who meet online,  HPV vaccination knowledge in gay and bisexual men, and levels of homophobia and attitudes among professional nurses regarding discrimination of gay, lesbian, and bisexual nurses in the workplace.

In addition, he has published extensively in the areas of GLBT-health and within the GLBT social science literature—including peer-reviewed articles examining gay and bisexual men’s vaccination needs, HIV/AIDS prevention, mental health and substance abuse, anorectal carcinoma and screening, male sex work, and ethical nursing implications of conversion/reparative therapies on GLBT individuals.

Dr. Blackwell is a well-published researcher and a frequent presenter at national and international conferences in the area of GLBT health and social disparity.
