(For students residing outside of Florida, mailed fingerprint cards may take up to 4 weeks to process, please start this process early.)
All students applying to a pre-licensure BSN program are required to submit a background check and fingerprints prior to the application deadline. Nursing students are placed into real clinical settings as part of their education. Access to such settings is guided by the Florida law which regulates the employment of persons to such settings as outlined in Florida Statute Title XXXI, Chapter 435 Section 04, Level 2 Screening Standards.
Habitual offenders may not be granted access to clinical settings. The inability to gain access to a clinical setting will not allow for a complete nursing education. Applicants with such inability will not be admitted to the program. Applicants who cannot obtain a nursing license as a result of their criminal history will not be admitted. Students with arrests pending the final decision of the court will not be admitted.
