Instructions for Traditional BSN and Second Degree BSN Programs
NEW for 2018! Applicants applying for a BSN program starting in 2018 will be offered conditional admission to a BSN program prior to submitting fingerprints and background checks. Conditional admission will require that applicants order a background check and get fingerprints taken within seven calendar days of the conditional admission email. An applicant who fails to order the background check and have fingerprints taken within seven calendar days will forfeit his or her seat. Applicants located outside of Florida are encouraged to do the fingerprints and background checks during the application window to avoid delays.
The UCF College of Nursing requires Traditional BSN and Second Degree BSN applicants to submit a background check and fingerprints through CastleBranch.com within seven calendar days of the conditional admission email. If completed early, results may not be older than two months prior to the application deadline. Instructions for the background check and fingerprinting can be found in the attachments below:

Applicants Currently Residing Outside of Florida:
(For students residing outside of Florida, mailed fingerprint cards may take up to 4 weeks to process, please start this process early.)
All applicants applying to a pre-licensure BSN program are required to submit a background check and fingerprints within seven calendar days of the conditional admission email. Nursing students are placed into real clinical settings as part of their education. Access to such settings is guided by Florida law which regulates the employment of persons to such settings as outlined in Florida Statute Title XXXI, Chapter 435 Section 04, Level 2 Screening Standards.
Habitual offenders may not be granted access to clinical settings. The inability to gain access to a clinical setting will not allow for a complete nursing education. Applicants with such inability will not be admitted to the program. Applicants who cannot obtain a nursing license as a result of their criminal history will not be admitted. Students with arrests pending the final decision of the court will not be admitted.
