Application Criteria

SSC-UCF Concurrent ASN to BSN Program

Minimum requirements needed to complete the Concurrent Program application:

Acceptance to UCF 

  • Apply to UCF at least three months before the BSN application deadline
  • Make sure the application term matches the program start term (for example: the Traditional BSN program starts each Fall so the application should state Fall and the year you are applying to start the program)

New UCF Student:

Former UCF Student or Alumni:

Acceptance to Seminole State College

  • Submit a Seminole State Application for Admission (paper or online) at least three months before the Concurrent ASN-BSN application deadline
  • Send all official transcripts and test scores to SSC

3.0 Overall GPA

11 Prerequisites

  • Complete 11 of the 12 nursing prerequisites by the application deadline (the one remaining prerequisite must be completed before the program start date)
  • Complete all nursing prerequisites with a grade of “C” (2.0) or better (if you do not meet this minimum grade requirement, you will need to re-take the respective course until you meet the grade requirement).
  • Students with all 12 prerequisites completed will be most competitive

TEAS® Exam

  • Register for and take the standardized Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS®) 
  • Must pass with a composite score of 78% or above before the nursing program application deadline
  • Must complete all 4 parts of the TEAS exam
  • Re-test policy: applicants may take the TEAS three (3) times in a calendar year with a minimum of 30 days in between each attempt
  • Visit atitesting.com for additional testing locations and test preparation materials
  • UCF Test Prep offers a 27-hour comprehensive TEAS Review Program
  • A new version of the TEAS will be administered starting September 1, 2016. TEAS V scores will not be accepted after December 31, 2017. Students applying for a BSN program after December 31, 2017 must submit the new version, ATI TEAS, score.

Apply to College of Nursing

Apply to the Seminole State College ASN Program

  • Complete the paper application for the SSC ASN Program
  • Submit the completed application to an SSC campus location by the application deadline
  • Send official TEAS score report from ATI Testing to SSC (this step only applies if TEAS is not taken at the SSC Testing Center)

UCF’s General Education Program Requirement

  • Meet UCF’s General Education Program Requirement
    • Or complete the AA degree from a Florida public institution
    • Or complete a bachelor’s degree from any regionally accredited institution

UCF’s Gordon Rule Requirement 

  • Meet UCF’s Gordon Rule Requirement 
    • Or complete the AA degree from a Florida public institution
    • Or complete a bachelor’s degree from any regionally accredited institution

UCF’s Foreign Language Admission Requirement 

  • Meet UCF’s Foreign Language Admission Requirement
    • Or complete a bachelor’s degree from any regionally accredited institution
    • Or complete an AA degree from a Florida public college with initial enrollment fall 2014 or later

  • Background check will be requested by Seminole State College (not UCF)
