Basic BSN Program

Program description
This five-semester program is the initial plan of study for a professional career in nursing. The program has a very demanding curriculum that includes work-intensive classes and several courses with clinical practice both in health care facilities and community settings. Courses are offered on the Orlando, Cocoa and Daytona campuses; clinical placements are throughout the Central Florida region. Admission to the upper-division, limited-access program is highly competitive.

The BSN graduate is prepared to provide comprehensive care in a variety of acute, community and rehabilitative settings. Program emphasis includes clinical nursing practice, health promotion and maintenance, hands-on experiences across the continuum of care and preparation for leadership roles. The program also provides a foundation for advancement into graduate studies.

Students completing this program will earn a BSN and are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for initial licensure as a registered nurse (RN).
