  • Applicant must be enrolled as a full or part time graduate student in the Nursing PhD program.

Carson Alan Swingle Helping Heart Endowed Scholarship

  • Applicant must be enrolled as a senior nursing student in the baccalaureate program in the College of Nursing at UCF.

  • Applicant must be considering a professional nursing career in pediatrics or pediatric critical care.

  • In the four years prior to applying, the applicant must document 500 hours of employment or volunteer activities in a health care setting where direct patient contact was an integral part of the role.

Dr. Mark G. Dogoli Endowed Scholarship

Odessa Chambliss Quality of Life Fund Scholarship

  • Applicant must be a nursing student in the College of Nursing at UCF.

  • Applicant must submit an essay that addresses educational and professional goals, and how this scholarship will impact their quality of life.

The Founders Day Award is set by the Provost office and is awarded in the spring term.
To be eligible, the student will:

  • Be a junior or senior
  • Have a 3.5 GPA in the discipline
  • Be currently enrolled for at least 9 UCF credit hours
  • Have completed at UCF, by the end of the semester of nomination, at least 3-4 courses in the field
  • Demonstrate exceptional ability in a particular area of study
  • Be nominated in writing by clinical instructor*
  • Be an active member of the SNA. An active member is defined as one who attends meetings and participates in SNA outreach activities, not simply a student who has a paid membership at the NSNA level.
  • Be actively involved in community service activities outside of those required by nursing courses (ie. Community Health Nursing, Public Health Nursing, etc.).

The nomination is approved by the Dean and sent forward to the Provost’s office. Recipients receive a $250 award and plaque; the award is supported by the UCF Foundation.

 

The Spirit of Nursing Award is provided by the Army and is awarded at NSNA Annual Convention in the spring.
To be eligible, the student (including students in the Basic, Accelerated and RN-BSN programs) will:

  • Be a member of FSNA
  • Be nominated by a faculty member
  • Complete the nomination packet
  • A faculty member will provide a letter of recommendation.
  • Decisions are made by the NSNA.
